Calla Genics Laser Hair Removal Treatments
Your Place for Laser Hair Removal in Palm Beach County
Laser hair removal has become a widely preferred solution for tackling unwanted hair. This advanced technique employs a concentrated beam of light, or laser, to target and eliminate unwanted hair. By directing the laser’s light towards the hair’s pigment (melanin), the emitted energy transforms into heat. This controlled heat then disrupts the hair follicles responsible for hair growth. Over time, this damage impedes or delays the regrowth of hair. While several sessions are typically needed to achieve the best results, some individuals may notice a reduction in hair growth after just the initial treatment.
As treatment progresses, the treated hair will naturally shed, leading to smoother skin. With each session, fewer hairs are likely to reappear, helping you move closer to achieving smoother, hair-free skin you desire. Underarm laser hair removal in Wellington is particularly popular at Calla Genics Medical Spa and Wellness.
Our laser hair removal treatment will help to reduce your hassles of frequent shaving—its time-consuming nature, discomfort, and cost involved. At Calla Genics, we use advanced laser technology to provide a long-term solution to the regular shaving routine.

Are These Treatments Effective for All Hair Colors?
The effectiveness of laser hair removal can vary based on hair color. This method works best on hair with darker pigments, like brown or black, which contain more melanin to absorb the laser’s energy. Hair colors such as white, gray, or blonde may not respond as effectively due to lower melanin levels. Red hair may show some response, but it’s advisable to perform a test spot before starting full treatment.

The GentleMax Pro™ is the gold standard for effective hair removal! The GentleMax Pro™ excels in providing safe, high speed, effective laser hair removal with high patient satisfaction and comfort. Typically, permanent hair removal requires 4-6 treatments, but some patients require more. The fee for hair removal depends on the size of the area, and we are happy to provide you with more information.
Is the GentleMax Pro laser procedure painful?
Only Gentle Systems feature a patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD™), which minimizes discomfort by releasing a quick burst of liquid cryogen before and after each laser pulse. The cryogen rapidly evaporates, cooling the outer layers of the skin and making the treatment significantly more comfortable for patients by removing the snapping and burning generally associated with laser hair removal. During the treatment, a hand piece delivers a laser pulse into the targeted areas, and a controlled amount of therapeutic heat that safely and effectively damages the hair follicles.
The DCD technology makes treatments easy and comfortable for our patients, plus GentleMax Pro has the industry’s largest handpiece spot size of 24mm, allowing our staff to drastically reduce treatment time. Patients love the quicker treatments.
How often do I have to come back for more GentleMax Pro laser hair removal treatments?
It really depends on your age, hair type, and the area to be treated. Some clients require six treatments, whereas others may need more. But on average, about 75 to 80 percent hair reduction is achieved after six visits. You should also know that there may be reduced hair growth for several weeks after a treatment, then you’ll experience new regrowth in certain areas. During this stage, another treatment is required. Finer hair or darker skin may require additional treatments.
“The GentleMax Pro laser is a pivotal tool in my practice, known as the gold standard for hair removal and diverse skin treatments. I utilize it extensively for both common and less known conditions, such as pigmentary and vascular lesions. Central to its appeal as a physician is the Dynamic Cooling DeviceTM (DCDTM), expertly synchronized with laser pulses. This integral feature cools the epidermis while allowing precise energy delivery to deeper skin targets, ensuring safety and comfort for my patients throughout their treatments.”

What can I expect during laser treatment?
The GentleMax Pro handpiece delivers a laser pulse into the targeted areas on your skin. The pulse produces a safe controlled amount of therapeutic heat which will effectively damage the hair follicles. The length of the time for the treatment will range from a few minutes to and hour for larger areas, so the length of time depends on the area being treated.

The lasers work by destroying hair follicles, brown spots and blood vessels through a series of treatments without harming the surrounding skin. This laser also uses a Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), where cryogen is sprayed onto the skin a fraction of a second before each laser pulse, which provides increased comfort during treatment.

What is Candela GentleMax® laser hair removal?
It’s time to get excited about laser hair removal, regardless of your skin type. It is one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures in the world for a reason. People like you love the look and feel of a hassle-free lifestyle without unwanted hair.
The state-of-the-art Candela GentleMax is a patented hair removal system. A small hand piece is used to direct a beam of powerful light onto the area being treated. The targeted skin cells absorb this light. They convert it to heat.
This destroys the hair follicle so that it can no longer produce hair there and GentleMax does this without damaging the surrounding skin.
Is it effective for all hair colors?
Only hair that has color will contain enough melanin (chromophore) to attract the laser light energy. Therefore, laser hair removal will not be effective on blonde, white and gray hair. Red hair is variable and may not work, a test spot is recommended first.
What can I expect during laser treatment?
Your practitioner will use a small hand piece to deliver each laser pulse. A treatment could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the treatment area and the condition being treated.
Does laser hair removal hurt using the Candela GentleMax Pro?
Pain is always a concern with hair removal. Waxing, tweezing, or threading hurt. Ouch! Who knows what the long-term effects of using depilatory creams are? You’re applying harsh chemicals to your skin.
The Candela GentleMax system is different. It comes complete with a Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™). This solution instantly freezes the very top layer of skin. Within a couple milliseconds, the laser hits the same spot. This one-two punch of cold and heat that takes less than a second means most people will remain perfectly comfortable throughout the procedure.
It’s been compared to the feeling of snapping yourself with a rubber band. Yes, you feel it for an instant. Then it’s gone. Test spots are always performed first to let the client feel comfortable before starting the treatment.
Do you need multiple sessions, how many treatments?
You have many hair follicles even in a small area. Targeting all of them in one session isn’t possible, but each session leaves you with fewer active hair follicles.
Multiple treatments are required to achieve the full hair removal effect. That’s because hair grows in three stages:
- Anagen (the growth stage). Hair is thickest and darkest, so laser treatments are most effective.
- Catagen (the transitional stage). The hair begins to loosen from its follicle.
- Telogen (the shedding stage). The hair falls out to make room for new growth.
The hairs on your body are not always at the same stage, so you’ll need to undergo a few treatments, an average of six weeks apart, to catch them all in the growth stage.
If you have darker hair on lighter skin, you will get the fastest results. The laser uses the contrast between hair color and skin color to guide it. A single area will typically take two to six sessions but there are times when more sessions might be required.
Note: The number of treatments will depend on the growth stage of your hair, as permanent hair removal can only occur in the Anagen growth stage. This is the reason several treatments are required. Each treatment will treat approximately 10% to 15% of the area being treated. After about 6 treatments you should have about 75% or more permanent hair reduction when the treatments have been performed at the proper schedule. Finer hair or darker skin types may require more treatment.
How do I prepare for a Gentle Hair Removal treatment?
to treatment, you should avoid waxing, electrolysis or plucking out any hairs in the planned treatment area. Before you arrive on the day of your treatment for the entire area where the treatment is to be performed your skin needs to be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed to removal all makeup, creams, oils, or any topical products you may have applied to your skin.
Do not expose the treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth for 4 to 6 weeks prior to or immediately after treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus, a prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed by your doctor.
How long does a Gentle laser hair removal treatment take?
A treatment can take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the treatment area and the condition being treated. Both legs can often be treated in as few as 15 minutes, as can an average-sized man’s back.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Because of your natural hair growth cycle, you need multiple laser treatments to get optimal results. My Haven Laser & Spa therapists are likely to recommend two to six treatments, depending on your skin tone, hair coarseness, and thickness.
Once you complete the treatment course, most people experience near-permanent hair removal. If hair remains, it’s significantly finer and lighter than before. Periodic maintenance schedules can also keep your skin smooth and hair-free.
